Three Things Thursday

Work has been tough on me the past week or so. When Dee Dee got up for work this morning, I couldn't get back to sleep. I went out on my "short" forty five minute run at 5:30 AM. I was back home and working by 6:30 AM. That's a bit strange for me in that it means I had breakfast early, drank 6 cups of coffee, and will be done with my day by 3 PM. LOL...

There's an old saying, never discuss politics amongst friends, and I, personally, have decided not to air my political views on this blog or on my Facebook status. There are some people that have no such inhibitions, and I've rather enjoyed the pointed debate back and forth. In my mind, it's just important to remember that at the end of the day, everybody has their own opinions and feelings on certain matters that are entirely theirs. Diversity is one of the things that makes this such a great country in which to live. At the end of the day, friendship remains.

I don't feel like I am recovering well this week. My hammies are sore, I suspect, from my bike rides this weekend. Running three days in a row is a little tough for me too. I'm going to play it by ear and re-evaluate my progress by the end of the week.

So Happy It's Thursday, y'all :-)

Wes,
I couldn't agree more about politics. I don't air mine in my blog or on fb, but I do enjoy following the debates of others. I think one of the wonderful things about keeping those thoughts private is that it allows friendships to flourish where they otherwise might fail. By the time politics (and I'll add religion to this) come up, the freindship is solid enough to withstand, and even enjoy, the divided opinions.

I know nothing of politics, REALLY!!

As for soreness, well yes, do play it by ear, you still have time and like you, I've never put anything into my bike shorts that god didn't give me....

I don't discuss politics much either. Partly because I probably don't know as much as I should and partly because like you said everyone has their own opinions and it can get heated.

Lucky for me my knees don't allow me to run 3 days in a row!

I have been sleeping SO good this week! I mean really good :) Have not managed an early a.m. run this week so I have been suffering in the afternoon...my own fault.

Ditto on the politics.

I agree on the politics side. I am rather jaded since I hear it all day long being in DC... you get to a point of WHO CARES!!

My quads are sore this week and I am hoping my IT band is not becoming a permanent angry character.
Keep up the training!

I usually refrain from political discussions as well. One of the beauties of our country is freedom of expression

I agree on the politics - I'm not very well-versed anyway, so am not usually tempted to post anything, but I've seen some discussions get rather nasty.

I remember I was hanging out with a high school friend who I got along with immensely. We had never discussed politics. However, that night, we were talking about things, and we realized we were at opposite ends on the spectrum politically! It got quite heated and I didn't like either us when we were debating. The whole "I'm right, you're wrong" thing. We agreed never to bring it up again, and you know what? I've never regretted it. We're still great friends. have a fabulous weekend, Wes! :)

HAHAHAHAHA! I was thinking the same thing! I've never taken offense at political debates, but I have seen it turn really ugly with people insulting other people.

You and I share different views, but I still love you, man. Who really cares what friends views are when you have so much else in common?

Amen on the politics. Lots of friends on both sides of the political spectrum. I like it that way! Way to go with 3 runs in a row! Hope you had a great weekend...

I'm with you on the politics stuff. Sometimes people take it a little too much too heart, but a good debate every once in a while is always fun.
